We moved in!

We have occupied our home!  At the end of September 2014 we moved into our home finally and our son breaks his arm at his very own birthday bash. You'd never know by the photo below what a bummer that was.  We roll with the punches.

I wanted to share the first few months and events in our home in a brief recap before I break it all down into all the fun home build do's and don'ts.  Pictures seem peaceful and fun but what you are missing are the mass amounts of crews I had daily finishing up detail work and starting my seemingly never ending punch list.
*update | 5 months in and it's finally slowing down |
| above | Our great dance floor has a cozy companion.  I ordered rugs from rugsusa with screaming deals that couldn't be passed up.

One party is never enough so we threw another birthday bash for a number of teens for our daughters 14th birthday, it was my first shin-dig inside the home and I loved hosting it!  We played a few games, my babe shows off the pickled glasses from said games.. & the rest of the night went off without a hitch!

Teens doing what teens do best.

Hot cider and donuts instead of cake.  | below | My kitchen backsplash a rustic drywall with calculations all over it..We waited 4 months for the tiles to arrive.

The party aftermath as we clean up the fun, chairs on the table and the music on high to celebrate the fun of youth.

Septemeber, October & November..  So awesome to host a slew of friends and family for Thansgiving and put all this good space to use.  We love our open floor plan and great use of natural light from all the western windows.

We used Western Windows for the major doors and windows in our home and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.  I saved a ton by not going with steel (kind of miss that..but not that much anymore) and I got the look I desired.

 Men setting up the theater.

We enjoyed the holidays immensely in our home.  I was just setting up the tree.. I enjoy this barren scape but I am ever eager to fill it with the right minimal touches.

Love the Big Ass Fan. Are you happy with it? We have been thinking about getting one, but they sure are pricey. Are they worth the money?

Jack, Totally worth it!! BAF is a great company and has been ideal with their customer service. The products speak for themselves. They are awesome! Since my husband was dead set on fans in the rooms I was dead set on these..asthetically they are perfectly simple and functional. Thanks Jack for asking.
