Follow an icon

Don't decorate safe.  What do I mean?  I mean buy it, try it, and love what you design.  I'd much rather design with a larger scale accessory first and fill the room with whimsy (stylish whimsy) and flare.  Kelly Wearstler has my heart and pushes the boundaries and yet it's balanced and I want to sit and stay awhile.  That my friends is good design, to evoke thought, create comfort & not be the catalog look.

Nicole Hollis another women with a great eye for design pulls the fun and timeless look out the hat so well.  Look at the punch, the thought & not overused look she creates, masterpiece.  It's stunning and truly these designers have a talent for not decorating safe.  There are no rules to design.. just enjoy it and let it speak to you.. and follow an icon.

Soul searching

Renting yet again, but thankfully so, I find myself in great thought of grattitude to have a home that refelts me.  You can do all you can to a home that is not yours to make it yours but for me it never cuts it (maybe it's my inner designer demon).  I do believe a home is a reflection of our innerselves, our secrets and most desirable goodness of us (well that's how I see it).

Before we moved to Texas and began renting again we owned our home, and although every detail wasn't exactly how I dreamed it ought to be, I was still surrounded by all my design choices and color schemes.  I designed the basics and on top of that I gave it my fluff.  Ha!  It was a very happy place place for me. My sould delighteth to have bits of me everywhere.. sounds very narcissistic.. things I love.. you get the point.

No matter where or what your home surroundings are like you can make it a beautiful space.  Drape it, paint it, splash color and flare and bring in the thrills of you.  In this blogging world there are far to many resources for it not to be within budget and an easy pleassure, your home should reflect you.

My previous home.. I miss it so much, it had me all over it but I've changed to.. things are evolving.. bring it on future, bring on the fun ahead, oh what will it be?

New Girl

 Meet Jess, an offbeat girl who after a bad breakup moves in with three single guys. 

It's only been a few episodes but it's cute and the loft they live in is a gem.  Sorry I have no photos of it's sweetness to share, I may have to pirate them as I watch.. but there is charm in the design and definitely the cast.  Zooey Deschanel is definitely a cute hottie that will make this series a hit.
